Labelbox’s January 6, 2025 update includes several new features and improvements:

Multi-modal chat editor code runner: The editor now includes a built-in code runner that detects and executes code blocks, allowing labelers and reviewers to run code directly within the editor and view the results. Execution results are saved and included in exports. This feature is currently in beta.

Z-ordering for annotations: Polygons, polylines, bounding boxes, and points now have a z-order, rendering those in front to occlude those behind. The z-order can be adjusted using a new view in the Objects panel.

Polygon snapping: This feature allows points on lines, polygons, and bounding boxes to align or attach to polygon edges. It can be toggled on in the editor settings.

Mandatory acknowledgment of project instructions: Labelers are now required to read and acknowledge project instructions before starting work. If instructions are modified, labelers must re-read them before resuming labeling.

PDF editor enhancements: Users can now create bounding boxes on PDF pages and use the relationship tool to connect them to classifications. This feature is available upon request.

Labeling services marketplace: A new marketplace allows users to view Alignerr labeler profiles and select labelers for projects based on expertise and availability. Access it by selecting “Services” from the left navigation bar.

Custom roles improvements: After a series of bug fixes, the custom roles feature now offers an improved user experience with more reliable permission settings.

User group change history export: Users can now download the history of changes made to a user group as a CSV file via Workspace settings > Groups > Export > Export history.

Enhanced timer mechanism: A new timer mechanism providing more accurate measurements for labeling, reviewing, and reworking time has been rolled out to all remaining organizations.
Future
- Sunsetting of Reporting tab: On February 13, 2025, the “Reporting” tab (Enterprise Dashboard) will be retired for all customers, replaced by the new Monitor tab.
