Labeling Time Series Data

I have many applications looking to annotate time series data. I see there are catalog types for text and HTML - neither of which are 1:1 with our application. Specifically we want to be able to display the graph of the time series and have users apply classification labels, both to the series as a whole and to sub-sequences of the series. Is this application supported by Labelbox? Is there a way to shoehorn this in to an existing data type in a way that behaves… sensibly? Internally we’ve talked about adding these as images, although this may track better if we treat them as audio files. Suggestions?

Hi Samuel,

Time series data is not supported by Labelbox out of the box. However, your approach is on the right track. Treating them as audio is definitely a good idea, especially if your time series is regular and resembles audio-like data. Labelers will be able to create global classifications (whole sequences) and sub classifications (sub-sequences).

If visualization is more important, you can render your time series data as images, and still be able to use classifications for the whole time series, and bounding boxes to highlight labeled subsequences.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Best,
