Changing Ontologies in Existing Projects

Hello,

I am in the process of updating the labeling guidelines of a project which already contains images and labels. The issue is that the ontology the project uses is shared between multiple projects. There is a feature to make a copy of an ontology, however it comes with the warning:

I intend to make a copy of the ontology and only change an attached pdf. Will the issue described in the warning still take place if the contents of the ontology json stay the same (excluding the attached pdf)?

Hey @ian ,

So if you use the create copy at the ontology level it will create a new ontology but will use the same features (tools/classification) as the previous one (hence the warning).
So if bear in mind if you modify the tools/classification this will impact all the ontologies copied using those tools.
Now, if you are only changing the labeling instructions you don’t have to worry about modifying the copied ontology.
